Company History

In the late 1960s, teenager Roger Parks hand-built his own small wooden fishing boat using scrap material. His father, an employee at a local boat manufacturer in their small Arkansas town, encouraged his passion and helped him find materials. Soon, father and son were building custom crafts for a dealer in neighboring Oklahoma.

Years later, the sudden death of Roger’s father led him to transfer the business to his brother Mike. Roger moved with his wife and two sons to Oklahoma, where he ran a boat manufacturing plant. Roger would soon use the experience he had gained to strike out on his own. In 1992, Roger founded a family boat manufacturing business that focused on high-quality construction, employee safety, and teamwork. Roger’s son Steven named the company Blue Wave, and a new legacy of boat construction was born. To this day, the company is run by Roger’s two sons, Richard and Steven, maintaining the family tradition of crafting excellent boats.
